First I want to start with saying how stunning this cover is :) Heading into the first chapter I was unsure if Ironskin would be a story I enjoyed (writing was a bit different than I was used to) but by the second chapter I was hooked and was more than pleased with the writing style. The story was very different from books I've read and I found this book hard to put down. Was it filled with action.... No- but the writing was beautiful and the story was mysterious and intriguing. The ending picked up with more action which saved the book in my opinion. The characters were awesome and I felt the frustrations that Jane went through in her daily life with the 5-year old girl- Dorie. I liked that the book was not overwhelmed with romance but just enough to make an impact. I enjoyed every minute of Ironskin because of the different plot line and beautiful writing. If your someone who is looking for a book to blow your socks off I don't think this one will do it, but if you want an overall great book I would recommend Ironskin- I see that the ratings are all over the place but for me- I loved it! I look forward to reading more from Tina Connolly in this series :) This is a favorite of mine for 2012 (Want to say Thank You- to the publisher Tor Books.... Review~ Don't Turn Around by Michelle Gagnon

Fans of The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo will devour the story of Noa, a teen soul mate to Lisbeth Salander REVIEW: 4 STARS**** I won an ARC of Don't Turn Around by Michelle Gagnon in a giveaway for free from a blog participating in a Blog Tour- Don't Turn Around was a fantastic read with well rounded characters. I was expecting a little more out of this book, but not a let down at all. This makes for a superb set-up for book two in my opinion and hope to see some of the minor holes filled in. I will be continuing on with this series with high expectations. I can not pinpoint it but something seemed like it was missing.... You could not have asked for more as far as the characters go- 100 percent likable. There was light hints of romance (which was nice and not overdone) and lots of action. If this series heads in the right direction I think it will be a hit. The writing was well paced, smooth, and easy to follow. The book was detailed, but may be not enough in some areas. I like how the book grabs your attention from chapter one. I would recommend Don't Turn Around as a quick- exciting- mystery/thriller and I anticipate the arrival of book two. Don't turn around is a favorite for 2012 and I'm so glad to have won it- Great Addition to my Bookshelves :)

This series is such an adventure and truly engrossing. I finished this book in two nights. Fantastic Characters and Impossible to put down! I will read anything by Kenneth Oppel I can not wait to read more :) If your looking for an easy flowing~ fun~ quick read~ I would recommend Such Wicked Intent. A pleasure to read and a Super addition for your bookshelves. Also if you were on the fence with book one I would give book two a try before you give up..... Much Different (better) and I think you would enjoy :)

Review~ Obsidian by Jennifer L. Armentrout

Starting over sucks. When we moved to West Virginia right before my senior year, I'd pretty much resigned myself to thick accents, dodgy internet access, and a whole lot of boring.... until I spotted my hot neighbor, with his looming height and eerie green eyes. Things were looking up. And then he opened his mouth. Daemon is infuriating. Arrogant. Stab-worthy. We do not get along. At all. But when a stranger attacks me and Daemon literally freezes time with a wave of his hand, well, something...unexpected happens. The hot alien living next door marks me. You heard me. Alien. Turns out Daemon and his sister have a galaxy of enemies wanting to steal their abilities, and Daemon's touch has me lit up like the Vegas Strip. The only way I'm getting out of this alive is by sticking close to Daemon until my alien mojo fades. If I don't kill him first, that is REVIEW~ 5 STARS***** This book was impossible to put down... Loved It- plowed through this one in less than two days. This was my first book by Jennifer L. Armentrout and will not be my last. It took me about two chapters to get used to her writing style, but this book was a home-run*** I can not wait to continue with this series and read her other books :) I own almost all of them---- This book was fun - sassy and a great escape. Obsidian was a delight to read... Fan forever* :) Not much more to say almost everyone has read this book~ I can't say I've heard one bad thing about it. Worth the time to read this one~ (in a reading slump try this) Highly recommend :)

There were some sad moments and laugh out loud moments. Great Characters*** This book would be perfect for a gift for Christmas- for anyone to read. I'm glad I had a chance to read Every Day! This is my first book by David Levithan and won't be my last.... Overall this book was Perfect and worth the read and has taken the number on spot for 2012. If you have not read Every Day I highly recommend that you do :)

Review: Sliding Beneath the Surface (The St. Augustine Trilogy #1) by Doug Dillon

REVIEW: 5 STARS***** I want to start by saying my first thoughts were to give this book 4 Stars- but after giving it some thought I've decided that this book is well worth 5 stars. This book has so many elements to it a perfect blend~ I enjoyed Doug Dillon's writing style* the book was well written and consistent- with likeable characters. A week or so has passed since reading this story and it's still on my mind. Although this book is aimed for younger readers I was able to stay fully engaged in this story- The Author managed to keep the pages turning while keeping the story clean. I loved the history in this book. (I liked that the Author added a page giving links to pictures of the real life cemetery where some events took place in the book) The ending of the book had just the right amount of mystery and suspense added. This is now a favorite of mine and I plan to have my 12 yr old give this book a try. I'm glad I was able to read this book it has become a favorite of mine for 2012. I can not wait to continue on with this trilogy.

Great story line which has me interested in book 2- However there were a lot of editing problems within the story. This is a good read was an interesting story line, but it seemed to fall a little flat for me. This story started off strong and kinda sizzled out. I loved the characters and am thinking book two should pick up. There were a couple issues that bothered me one being overuse of the same words. (Clam it- was one) With that being said I'm still going to give book 2 a try and see what direction this story goes in because it has major potential.

Review~ Temptation by Karen Ann Hopkins

It should be ROSE & NOAH forever, easy. But it won't be. Because he's Amish. And I'm not. Review_ 4 Stars**** First- let me start by saying that this is not normally my type of read. However, when you put the words together He's Amish and She's Not- you've got my attention. 16yr old Rose and her family move into a house in the country side next store to Noah and his Amish family and a forbidden love unfolds..... I loved this story_ I have to admit that this was the first book of 2012 to make me shed a tear (just one single tear though) at the last page. Temptation was a new and unique read for me~ There were about 2-3 chapters where I began to get a tiny bit board with the story, but I kept pushing through and I'm so glad that I did. The character were interesting and well developed. The plot & dialog in Temptation was fantastic. I felt like I was able to learn about the Amish Community with one of the main characters (Rose) in a realistic way..... Karen Ann Hopkins wrote a well balance story with ups and downs that tempted you to keep flipping the pages. Also, I look forward to second installment in this series. (I can not wait) I encourage everyone to read this book even if it's not you type of read. I read this on my Kindle, but I plan on adding this one to my shelves. Review~ Nick the Lolt: Tales from Yod (Volume 1) by Anthony M. Briggs Jr.

I'm so glad I got the chance to read this book (I was after it for awhile) I'm now going to read this book to my 12 and 9 yr old daughters. The fantasy in this book was so much fun* I can not wait to see the cover in person on book number 2- it is pretty cool :) This is a favorite of 2012 and I plan on reading this book a few times. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a light-fun-silly read which sparks the imagination. I really enjoyed this story- This book was filled with- awesome characters* swords and action* epic fantasy* and an enjoyable story line that made you want to keep flipping the pages. I did run into a few Minor~ errors with the grammar/writing but this did not interrupt the nicely paced flow of this book. Super start for a new Author~ who dished out Fantastic dialog in this story. I felt like I was watching a movie while reading this book- great descriptions painted a picture of the characters as well as the surroundings. I would recommend this book to those who love fantasy.... If your looking for a fun easy to read fantasy with a dash of romance than this would be a nice addition to your bookshelves. Thank You!! The Iron Fey: Call of the Forgotten* Superb- The first book was a delightful start for this series- The Lost Prince was packed with imagination, action, suspense, & more creative writing. Also filled with fun* fresh* new~characters (Ethan -Kenzie and -Kierran) This book will have you burning through the pages revisiting the world that Julie Kagawa creates. I have to admit that I had some issues around chapters 6-10 where I almost got annoyed (repeating.. seeming drug out- I feared it would not stop) but by chapter Julie hit a home-run for me and I never looked back. Though- I think this was necessary for the character's development (Ethan's) which for me all character's were likable & developed well. I enjoyed the descriptions of the different colored bugs that were landing on Kenzie's arm- (that would have been neat to see if it were real) I do not want to say too much- The romance was light~(perfect) and thumbs up for *no* Insta~Love :) I loved this book 5 stars.... Loved this story* especially the refreshing descriptions of a child with special needs- as an individual- with both family & other people around them. (also in some situations like school) This may help some or give insight to others- helping to understand that every kid is unique in their own way. This is the first book I've read that gives the public some actual insight, and I would recommend this story to all. Enjoyable Story- Emotional- Likable Characters, & Creative~Writing- Thank You!!! 5 out of 5 Stars*** The Island of Tory kicks off with a family trip headed to an island called Tory~ (this is not Arella's idea of a place to hang out) but before the family can arrive there is a horrible car accident- which leaves Arella to continue on with life without her mother or father. Soon- she finds herself having to live on this island anyway with her aunt Fi and a life of attending a small private school located on the Island of Tory. Here she meets a nice boy named Declan who decides to help show her the ropes and invites her to attend a sport she loves (soccer) after school along with some potential friends. But things take a turn- people start to act strange- visions believed to be caused from the accident- and also her life could be in danger. I have to say that I really enjoyed this story more than expected loved the mystery and fantasy and the author did a great job with the Irish accents which played out well in the story. This book had me guessing until the very end~ I really liked Regina M. Geither's writing style. I read this on my computer and was wishing the whole time that I had a physical copy for my shelves- amazing cover!! This book has a lot of different elements to offer a reader. The characters were well developed and dialog was fantastic. If there is a second book coming out I will pick it up without hesitation. (I would hate to say there is anything beautiful about a car accident- but the author did an outstanding job with the choice of words and description of this accident in the beginning of the story) I would recommend Island of Tory as a great read and is quite different than those I've read lately which was nice- so if you're looking for a fast* unique* read -this one is for you. I look forward to reading more from this author. I hope to soon have my own copy to put onto my shelves.
