Noelle's world is turned upside down when she learns that a secret sisterhood known as the Hive may be responsible for her friend's death and others. If Noelle and Gabriel cannot fight their way through the labyrinth of lies and secrets surrounding the Hive, then she may be next. Rating 3 STARS*** I'm not sure how rate this book- I was torn..... Great story line which has me interested in book 2- However there were a lot of editing problems within the story. This is a good read was an interesting story line, but it seemed to fall a little flat for me. This story started off strong and kinda sizzled out. I loved the characters and am thinking book two should pick up. There were a couple issues that bothered me one being overuse of the same words. (Clam it- was one) With that being said I'm still going to give book 2 a try and see what direction this story goes in because it has major potential.

Review~ Temptation by Karen Ann Hopkins

Release Date: June 26, 2012 | Series: Harlequin Teen Your heart misleads you. That's what my friends and family say. But I love Noah. And he loves me. We met and fell in love in the sleepy farming community of Meadowview, while we rode our horses together through the grassy fields and in those moments in each other's arms. It should be ROSE & NOAH forever, easy. But it won't be. Because he's Amish. And I'm not. Review_ 4 Stars**** First- let me start by saying that this is not normally my type of read. However, when you put the words together He's Amish and She's Not- you've got my attention. 16yr old Rose and her family move into a house in the country side next store to Noah and his Amish family and a forbidden love unfolds..... I loved this story_ I have to admit that this was the first book of 2012 to make me shed a tear (just one single tear though) at the last page. Temptation was a new and unique read for me~ There were about 2-3 chapters where I began to get a tiny bit board with the story, but I kept pushing through and I'm so glad that I did. The character were interesting and well developed. The plot & dialog in Temptation was fantastic. I felt like I was able to learn about the Amish Community with one of the main characters (Rose) in a realistic way..... Karen Ann Hopkins wrote a well balance story with ups and downs that tempted you to keep flipping the pages. Also, I look forward to second installment in this series. (I can not wait) I encourage everyone to read this book even if it's not you type of read. I read this on my Kindle, but I plan on adding this one to my shelves. Thank You to NetGalley and the Publisher for approving me to read this title on my Kindle!

Review~ Nick the Lolt: Tales from Yod (Volume 1) by Anthony M. Briggs Jr.

This tale is the beginning of the most controversial life. The story of a man who – by himself – caused regions to evacuate like the approach of a hurricane. Many would only whisper of him, the dreaded Marsh King… But at sixteen he was just Nick, a boy who made paintbrushes that obeyed his commands. He could paint pictures that made passersby forget where they were going. In those days he wanted to earn forgiveness (and maybe a bit more) from an outgoing girl he'd known off and on since he was four. And to save his village, by winning the most elite speed-painting tournament of all time. This village, however, wanted nothing more than for him to leave. Years of being a target of its scorn and bullies taught Nick a few tricks, though. And he and his few friends would need every last one of them. Because even as a teen he'd already made some dangerous enemies... Review~ 5 Stars***** I really enjoyed Nick the Lolt: Tales of Yod by Anthony M. Briggs Jr. First I want to mention that the cover is Super and I wish I had my own personal copy for my shelves~ (I read Nick the Lolt on my kindle) This is a fantastic story with superb characters and an awesome plot. I look forward to the second installment to this series.... Character are likable and the story ensures you keep turning the pages. A well written story that brings these characters to life*** I would recommend this book to all- This is a favorite of mine for 2012- The Land of Yod is worth the money to put on your book shelf :) Thanks! Release Date: September 25, 2012 | Age Level: 9 and up | Grade Level: 4 and up | Series: Tales from Lovecraft Middle School “Two-headed monsters, giant tentacles, angry demons – Lovecraft Middle School is great creepy fun!” –Ransom Riggs, author of Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children Strange things are happening at Lovecraft Middle School. Rats are leaping from lockers. Students are disappearing. The school library is a labyrinth of secret corridors. And the science teacher is acting very peculiar – in fact, he just might be a monster-in-disguise. Twelve-year-old Robert Arthur knew that seventh grade was going to be weird, but this is ridiculous! Professor Gargoyle (Volume I in the Tales from Lovecraft Middle School series) is full of bizarre beasts, strange mysteries, and nonstop adventure. It's perfect for readers ages 10 and up. Best of all, the cover features a state-of-the-art “morphing” photo portrait – so you can personally witness the professor transforming into a monster. You won't believe your eyes! “Gilman's debut and series kick-off is great fun for fans of light horror. Review~ Legend of the Phoenix: Rise of the Crescent by Gabriel Gonzalaz

In a world of grand cities, magnificent castles, and powerful Races lies a legend that the world has long forgotten. A legend that through time, has faded. The story of the once all powerful Phoenix Clan and their battles against the menacing Beasts, is now a mythical story, often told to children as a bedtime story. The young children of the world of Pardes can be seen playing in the streets of their towns pretending to be the Phoenix Clan fighting the evil Beasts. The legend of the Phoenix has been long forgotten.

Shadow thinks he’s a regular guy destined to live a life of boredom. If it weren’t for his best friend Kale, one of Gaia’s lackluster, womanizing soldiers, he wouldn’t have a connection with anyone. The sight of his father is about as rare as seeing an ancient Beast. Once he meets Princess Emerald, and her two Luna trainers, Sage and Katrina, his entire life takes a turn.

The Aakesh Race are trying to kill him, he’s starting to be able to control the power of Spirit, and worst of all he finds himself falling in love with the Princess of Gaia. Rumors of the return of Beasts are beginning to swirl. Towns are being destroyed; Kings and Queens are missing, and the power of Spirit that the Luna control is acting strange. Shadow learns that his own power to control Spirit isn’t like anyone else’s in the world.
As evil rises, Shadow is about to discover the secrets of a legend that has been hidden from the world for a thousand years. The goodness of his heart will be challenged, every belief will be tested, and his love for Emerald will take him down a frightening, deadly path. If he cannot overcome the darkness that fills his thoughts, millions of people will die, and the world of Pardes will face a sorrow that it has never known before

I really enjoyed this story- This book was filled with- awesome characters* swords and action* epic fantasy* and an enjoyable story line that made you want to keep flipping the pages. His previous time in the Iron Realm left him with nothing but fear and disgust for the world Meghan Chase has made her home, a land of myth and talking cats, of magic and seductive enemies. But when destiny comes for Ethan, there is no escape from a danger long, long forgotten. Rating 5 Stars*** Review~ BRING IT ON JULIE KAGAWA~ MORE-PLEASE*** OF THIS SPIN OFF SERIES.... The Iron Fey: Call of the Forgotten* Superb- The first book was a delightful start for this series- The Lost Prince was packed with imagination, action, suspense, & more creative writing. Also filled with fun* fresh* new~characters (Ethan -Kenzie and -Kierran) This book will have you burning through the pages revisiting the world that Julie Kagawa creates. I have to admit that I had some issues around chapters 6-10 where I almost got annoyed (repeating.. seeming drug out- I feared it would not stop) but by chapter Julie hit a home-run for me and I never looked back. Though- I think this was necessary for the character's development (Ethan's) which for me all character's were likable & developed well. I enjoyed the descriptions of the different colored bugs that were landing on Kenzie's arm- (that would have been neat to see if it were real) I do not want to say too much- The romance was light~(perfect) and thumbs up for *no* Insta~Love :) I loved this book 5 stars.... I can not wait to continue on with the series (did someone say Pre-Order) Huge thank you to NetGalley and Publisher for granting me access to this title- Awesome Book- Thank You! Reesa***

Review on Island of Tory~ by Regina M. Geither for Blog Tour Stop***

February 23, 2012*** Amazon Link- http://www.amazon.com/Island-Tory-Regina-M-Geither/dp/0985081708/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1349068431&sr=1-1&keywords=Island+of+tory
When sixteen year old Arella Cline's summer vacation begins with the tragic death of her parents, she is sent to live with her aunt to begin a new life on a remote island off the western coast of Ireland. But there are strange things happening on Tory Island— shadow figures, mysterious auras, and the haunting sound of her deceased parents’ voices. The only thing Arella finds appealing about Tory is the handsome, dark-haired Declan McQuillan. But Cannon Fidelous, a mysterious outcast, warns her that the island and its inhabitants are hiding a dark secret. And when Arella finds an ancient book of prophecies, she discovers the island's curse—a curse that only she can undo
5 out of 5 Stars*** The Island of Tory kicks off with a family trip headed to an island called Tory~ (this is not Arella's idea of a place to hang out) but before the family can arrive there is a horrible car accident- which leaves Arella to continue on with life without her mother or father. Soon- she finds herself having to live on this island anyway with her aunt Fi and a life of attending a small private school located on the Island of Tory. Here she meets a nice boy named Declan who decides to help show her the ropes and invites her to attend a sport she loves (soccer) after school along with some potential friends. But things take a turn- people start to act strange- visions believed to be caused from the accident- and also her life could be in danger. I have to say that I really enjoyed this story more than expected loved the mystery and fantasy and the author did a great job with the Irish accents which played out well in the story. This book had me guessing until the very end~ I really liked Regina M. Geither's writing style. I read this on my computer and was wishing the whole time that I had a physical copy for my shelves- amazing cover!! This book has a lot of different elements to offer a reader. The characters were well developed and dialog was fantastic. If there is a second book coming out I will pick it up without hesitation. (I would hate to say there is anything beautiful about a car accident- but the author did an outstanding job with the choice of words and description of this accident in the beginning of the story) I would recommend Island of Tory as a great read and is quite different than those I've read lately which was nice- so if you're looking for a fast* unique* read -this one is for you. I look forward to reading more from this author. I hope to soon have my own copy to put onto my shelves. Awesome Read- This was my first review for a blog tour and I am so excited* Glad I was able to be a part of Island of Tory Blog Tour* :) Thank You!! Reesa***

Awesome book~ Will continue with this series for sure. In the beginning

WELCOME TO THE APOCALYPSE In Deuce's world, people earn the right to a name only if they survive their first fifteen years. By that point, each unnamed 'brat' has trained into one of three groups-Breeders, Builders, or Hunters, identifiable by the number of scars they bear on their arms. Deuce has wanted to be a Huntress for as long as she can remember.
As a Huntress, her purpose is clear--to brave the dangerous tunnels outside the enclave and bring back meat to feed the group while evading ferocious monsters known as Freaks. She's worked toward this goal her whole life, and nothing's going to stop her, not even a beautiful, brooding Hunter named Fade. When the mysterious boy becomes her partner, Deuce's troubles are just beginning.
Down below, deviation from the rules is punished swiftly and harshly, and Fade doesn't like following orders. At first she thinks he's crazy, but as death stalks their sanctuary, and it becomes clear the elders don't always know best, Deuce wonders if Fade might be telling the truth. Her partner confuses her; she's never known a boy like him before, as prone to touching her gently as using his knives with feral grace.
As Deuce's perception shifts, so does the balance in the constant battle for survival. The mindless Freaks, once considered a threat only due to their sheer numbers, show signs of cunning and strategy... but the elders refuse to heed any warnings. Despite imminent disaster, the enclave puts their faith in strictures and sacrifice instead. No matter how she tries, Deuce cannot stem the dark tide that carries her far from the only world she's ever known.

Review of Trojan Horse by Mark Russinovich, Kevin Mitnick

It’s two years post-Zero Day, and former government analyst Jeff Aiken is reaping the rewards for crippling al-Qaida’s attack on the computer infrastructure of the Western world.  His cyber - security company is flourishing, and his relationship with Daryl Haugen intensifies when she becomes a part of his team.

But the West is under the East’s greatest threat yet. The Stuxnet virus that successfully subverted Iran’s nuclear defense program for years is being rapidly identified and defeated, and Stuxnet’s creators are stressed to develop a successor.  As Jeff and Daryl struggle to stay together, they’re summoned to disarm the attack of a revolutionary, invisible trojan that alters data without leaving a trace.  As the trojan penetrates Western intelligence, the terrifying truth about Iran is revealed, and Jeff and Daryl find themselves running a desperate race against time to reverse it - while the fate of both East and West hangs in the balance.

Like Zero DayTrojan Horse is a thrilling suspense story, a sober warning from one of the world’s leading experts on cyber-security, Microsoft’s Technology Fellow, Mark Russinovich.  Trojan Horse demystifies the dangerously realistic threat of a cyber-terrorism attack on the Western world, while chronicling the lengths through which one man and will go to stop it  I won an ARC of Trojan Horse: A Novel by Mark Russinovich in a giveaway for free on Goodreads First/Reads- Wow* what an eye opener** Trojan Horse is a brilliant story... filled with enough action and suspense to have you flipping through the second half of this novel with no problems... If your looking to read a fun- slightly sassy- well written mystery- this one is for you... I plan to continue on with this series... likable characters and seems as though every paragraph in this book was well thought out. I had a couple laughs- was interested throughout from beginning to end. The twists and turn were great- also just the right amount of suspense at the end. Review of Poison Tree by Amelia Atwater-Rhodes

The rich stew of the author's creations—SingleEarth, vampires, shapeshifters, Tristes, the Bruja Guilds—are at full boil here in the story of two 20-ish young women trying to out run their very different pasts, and figure out where they fit in and who they might become. Each has landed in a more "normal" place, and each wonders if, like a tattoo that can't be covered up, they can ever really fit into "normal.    Rating 4-stars I enjoyed this book a whole lot- can't say it is an all time favorite- but worth the read... I was a little confused with the characters and the plot.  I'm not sure if it was simply because I read most of this book while at work so there were interruptions- or that it was a little confusing. The ending was great and the cover is beautiful- I will pick up more from this author in the future- I loved her writing style! This was a quick read and a well rounded book- just the right amount of action, romance. and mystery.  If your looking for a quick paranormal read this one makes a nice addition to your collection. Review of Cinder by Marissa Meyer

Humans and androids crowd the raucous streets of New Beijing. A deadly plague ravages the population. From space, the ruthless lunar people watch, waiting to make their move. No one knows that Earth’s fate hinges on one girl. . . .

Cinder, a gifted mechanic, is a cyborg. She’s a second-class citizen with a mysterious past, reviled by her stepmother and blamed for her stepsister’s illness. But when her life becomes intertwined with the handsome Prince Kai’s, she suddenly finds herself at the center of an intergalactic struggle, and a forbidden attraction. Caught between duty and freedom, loyalty and betrayal, she must uncover secrets about her past in order to protect her world’s future. WOW- is all I can say*** I have been after this book for so long, and once I was able to finally purchase it on Amazon- something came up and I had to cancel my order.... I was so sad- Then one day my best friend had a package sent to me and I opened it only to find a hardcover copy of Cinder by Marissa Meyer sitting in my hands. (of course I did a dance) It took me three days to read this book and Cinder lived up to the standards created in my mind- I loved it. I will Pre-Order the second in the series without hesitation. I can't wait~ This is a fantastic start to a great series- the characters well developed a great plot unfolding (although it was predictable) it still makes for a fantastic retelling of Cinderella* (I mean how much cooler can you get other than a cyborg Cinderella) I recommend this story to everyone- no doubt you will love it. 5 Stars- Favorite of 2012- Thank You~ Sunni for this AWESOME gift :) Reesa***

Review of Such a Rush by Jennifer Echols

A sexy and poignant romantic tale of a young daredevil pilot caught between two brothers.

When I was fourteen, I made a decision. If I was doomed to live in a trailer park next to an airport, I could complain about the smell of the jet fuel like my mom, I could drink myself to death over the noise like everybody else, or I could learn to fly.

Heaven Beach, South Carolina, is anything but, if you live at the low-rent end of town. All her life, Leah Jones has been the grown-up in her family, while her mother moves from boyfriend to boyfriend, letting any available money slip out of her hands. At school, they may diss Leah as trash, but she’s the one who negotiates with the landlord when the rent’s not paid. At fourteen, she’s the one who gets a job at the nearby airstrip.

But there’s one way Leah can escape reality. Saving every penny she can, she begs quiet Mr. Hall, who runs an aerial banner-advertising business at the airstrip and also offers flight lessons, to take her up just once. Leaving the trailer park far beneath her and swooping out over the sea is a rush greater than anything she’s ever experienced, and when Mr. Hall offers to give her cut-rate flight lessons, she feels ready to touch the sky.

By the time she’s a high school senior, Leah has become a good enough pilot that Mr. Hall offers her a job flying a banner plane. It seems like a dream come true . . . but turns out to be just as fleeting as any dream. Mr. Hall dies suddenly, leaving everything he owned in the hands of his teenage sons: golden boy Alec and adrenaline junkie Grayson. And they’re determined to keep the banner planes flying.

Though Leah has crushed on Grayson for years, she’s leery of getting involved in what now seems like a doomed business—until Grayson betrays her by digging up her most damning secret. Holding it over her head, he forces her to fly for secret reasons of his own, reasons involving Alec. Now Leah finds herself drawn into a battle between brothers—and the consequences could be deadly. I won Such a Rush by Jennifer Echols in a giveaway for free on Goodreads First/Reads. ~After takeoff this one is sure to land your heart~ You will not regret diving into this read-  Amazing Cover with a heart-warming unique story..
